Mister_Fast – Cornering with a following fast long straight

Hey Racers,

today we will discuss the corner-technique for a curve with a following fast and long straight.

Here are my views:

If you turn in the wheel too early like the first picture shows, you cannot accelerate as fast as the racer on the green line on picture two because you will get problems if you come out of the curve (red zone).  The driver on the green line is able to accelarate much faster and earlier then the other. And that brings him advantages on the following long straight.

The “green line driver” looses a minimum of time at the beginning because he turns in a little bit later but he wins much more time at the exit of the corner with the following fast straight.

Do not forget this is the technique for a long and fast following straight!

Mister_Fast – Skills of the perfect Simracer

Hey racers,

what are the skills of the perfect F1-2011 and the successful GT5 (Gran Tourismo) driver?

Many racers of the simulation racing community were asking themselves about the most important skills to race in front of the big crowd. It is not easy at all but the racer has to consider the following points:

In the real F1 circus the racer in addition has to build competence in marketing, media and carrier management. In our sim racing games we have nothing to do with such problems. (at the moment :-) )

A top racer has to bring the above named skills in the graphics to perfection.

The people behind the wheels have different experiences and racing technics.

There a some different characters of racers we can see in our simracing world:

  • hard working guys (practice a lot of hours to get better results)
  • talents (natural racing skills)
  • hit & run racers (high risk racers – who only win or loose)
  • brains (a racer with a rational thinking approach to win a race)

The perfect driver is a mixture of the above named racers.

Practical Analysis of ImpulsiveRacer (GER)

If we look at ImpulsiveRacer the No.1 German Racer of the PS3 Nations-League we can see a person who has a lot of talent. He is racing so often as possible. He loves the game and he wants to win every race. To loose is no opportunity for him. I asked him a lot of questions about his racing plans for  Silverstone (last PS3 Nations-League event) and i must say, that he had extremely clear tactical plans for the different situations.

In the next weeks you will get  more informations about racing skills.
