today we will discuss the corner-technique for a curve with a following fast and long straight.
Here are my views:
If you turn in the wheel too early like the first picture shows, you cannot accelerate as fast as the racer on the green line on picture two because you will get problems if you come out of the curve (red zone). The driver on the green line is able to accelarate much faster and earlier then the other. And that brings him advantages on the following long straight.
The “green line driver” first looses a minimum of time because he turns in a little bit later but he wins much more time at the exit of the corner with the following fast straight.
Do not forget this is the technique for a long and fast following straight!
